The music program offers a broad spectrum of musical options for Monarch School students, including private instrumental music lessons, small ensemble playing and solo, duo and trio singing. Students have studied piano, flute, saxophone, clarinet, soprano, recorder, cello, violin, trumpet, trombone, classical and electric guitar, bass, and percussion. Students are evaluated based on preparation, participation in lessons, and playing in musical performances. All periods of music, from pre-baroque through contemporary, as well as a variety of genres are presented to broaden students’ musical horizons, maintain their enthusiasm for music, and allow for personal expression.
