Winston Cook graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) and a K-12 music teaching certificate. He received his Masters Degree (Vocal Performance) from the University of Washington and did post-graduate work in choral conducting and opera theater. He has held teaching certificates and has taught Band, Choir, Elementary and High School music in Idaho, Washington, Montana, and Oregon. He has been a professional performer in Opera and Musical Theater with over fifty roles to his credit. As a community musician he has played French Horn, Trombone, and been a Baritone vocal soloist wherever he has lived.
Winston has been teaching at Monarch since July, 2004, after retiring from public school. He especially loves the one-on-one connection he has with his students at Monarch. He shares his life with wife Carla, son Spencer and beagle Maxy at his home on Trestle Creek, a short drive from the school.
